Kubitschek PlazaThe Kubitschek Plaza is owned and operated by the same group which controls Manhattan Plaza Hotel. The name is a tribute to ex-President Juscelino Kubitschek, but the family has no known participation in the hotel. Kubitschek and Manhattan are located in front of to each other; the front of Kubitschek overlooks the back of Manhattan. The rooms of Manhattan afford a better view of the Three Powers Square.

Le Meridien CopacabanaThe Meridien hotel by the name of Le Meridian, is towering black right at the oceanfront of Copacabana beach and is the tallest of the many five star hotels in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This colossal architecture has become a bench mark on the Avenida Atlantica. During New Year’s Eve the Rio hotel is especially easy to spot as the Meridien hotel is covered from top to bottom by light balls with a perfect view of the Copacabana beach fireworks! I remember the hotel best for it’s own spectacular New Year’s eve show entertaining the millions of people and tourists dancing on the beach.
